Recognized in 2022 following a call for projects by the Walloon government, the Semois Valley National Park has two fundamental objectives: the protection and development of natural areas and landscapes on the one hand, and their enhancement through sustainable tourism on the other. To achieve these objectives, 75 actions will be carried out between now and 2026 in the National Park's territory, which extends over 8 communes in the provinces of Luxembourg and Namur, covering a total of almost 29,000 hectares in a single block. These missions, undertaken by 9 operators under the aegis of the Semois Valley National Park Foundation, will continue beyond 2026. A master plan drawn up by the project's promoters outlines an ambitious 20-year vision for this laboratory area.
